As we approach the summer cricket season, we find ourselves at a crucial point in ensuring the financial stability and future success of OWCC. In the wake of COVID, our ground maintenance rates have increased significantly and much more rapidly than anticipated in recent seasons, creating a substantial financial gap. Additionally, the fewer number of adult members returning post-pandemic has further impacted our financial health negatively.

Today, we reach out to you, our dedicated members, with a vital call to action. We have initiated a GoFundMe campaign, primarily focusing on solidifying our club’s financial foundation as we enter this season and beyond. Currently, we are investigating options to increase revenue in the medium to long term. However, looking ahead to the season, we are also exploring short-term options to address our immediate needs.

Established in 1878, the Old Whitgiftians Cricket Club is an integral part of the Whitgift Sports Club and the community of South Croydon, where our ground is based.
